Yum Gourmet Salad

After my recent visit to Onde I could never get over how yum that salad was. So I attempted to make it at home. It was so good and so easy to make. I just roasted some pumpkin, then added some Feta and walnuts to some Rocket Leaves and just added some olive oil and Salt& pepper for dressing

So yum...

George's Breakfast

The photo above is of the breakfast George made for me this morning. Breakfasts are becoming his speciality although I think we are both struggling to master poached eggs!

It's time...

Okay...I can't deny it any longer. As you know I love food and lately i've noticed that I need to start balancing that with more exercise! You see I'm one of those people who can eat eat eat and not gain any weight..well at least i was that type of person. Even though I'm still a size 8 I think I need to start getting more toned!

And so..from this day forward I will make the most of my gym membership, get more outdoor-sy and more active!! Considering I sit on my bum all day at work I think its more important than ever. So here I go,the journey begins. Well actually it begins tomorrow because its too late for me to workout now..

Coffee

Before I started working I drunk coffee on the rare occasion. Today that is all I had for lunch...oh no I am becoming one of those people. I just wasn't that hungry and to tell you the truth I had so much work to do that I felt guilty from moving away from my desk...

I can't wait til xmas and all those public holidays! G and I are planning a big Europe trip next year and hopefully score some tickets for the world cup..Germany here we come. I just don't think I can wait another 7 months til I can take a break..you see if i was still at Uni i'd be getting ready for my 3 month break!

ahh well..so yeah coffee and a brownie..not a great food day today.

Stephanie Alexander's Cooking Companion

Hands Down, this is the BEST cookbook you can possibly ever get. It is seriously the BIBLE of all cookbooks.

Everything is listed under Ingredients so saw for example you feel like having something with tomatoes in it for dinner, you just flick to "T" find Tomatoes and VOILA..a bjillion recipes that contain Tomatoes..well maybe not a bjillion.

She even gives advice on how to store everything to maintain freshness and advice on how to pick the best quality ingredients...Seriously its the BIBLE of COOKING.

Krispy Kreme

My Boy...let's call him G from now on. Got two dozen boxes of Krispy Kremes and there they are sitting on my kitchen bench!! Now I heard that each Krispy Kreme has as much fat as eating 1 Big Mac. If thats true then i've eaten 3 big macs in the past 10mins...

They are soo good but soooooo bad!

Onde

I've heard great things about this restaurant, so we decided to check it out on Sunday Night. Onde (346, Liverpool St, Darlinghurst) surely lived up to expectations!!
The only downer is that the don't take reservations, which I guess is okay as long as you go early. We got there at about 6ish just before the rush started.

Offering French style bistro food it took me a while to decide what to have because everything looked so delicious. I settled for the Roasted Pumpkin and Fetta Rocket Salad to begin with and the fish of the day Swordfish with Roast Cherry Tomatoes. Both were absoultely fantastic and the flavours were to die for.

My boy ordered the Chilli Squid Salad with tomatoes, I tried some and was almost blown away as well. For main, he went for the Grilled Chicken with Asparagus [which I tried as well ;)] the chicken was grilled to perfection and so juicy!

I'm already planning my next visit and next time ordering the t-bone (I took a sneak peak at the other table..it looked good) and the Duck Confit, and the Pork Neck...hmm think I'll need to go a couple of times to try it all!

The First Drop

I had brunch at The First Drop (69 Baptist st, Redfern).
With a very impressive menu I struggled to pick what to have! I settle for the Chorizo Toast, chorizo, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes and a nice thick piece of toast. Perfectly, presented and perfect for a Sunday Breakfast.

A couple of friends ordered the Mediterranean Breakfast, which had your usual bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes but adding haloumi and Chorizo to the dish made it a very impressive hearty meal.

The Salmon Eggs Benedict also looked delish topped with asparagus.

Along with a Summer Juice, it proved to be a top Sunday Brunch!
